Terms of Service

Last updated: May 1, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using CodeFence ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including free and paid accounts.

2. What CodeFence Does

CodeFence is a developer security platform that scans your code repositories for secrets, vulnerabilities, IaC misconfigurations, and container issues. We provide findings, alerts, compliance reports, and auto-remediation pull requests.

3. Your Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • You may not share your account or use it to serve multiple organizations without a Team or Enterprise plan.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use CodeFence.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Scan repositories you do not own or have explicit permission to scan.
  • Use CodeFence to identify vulnerabilities in systems you do not own.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the CodeFence infrastructure.
  • Resell or redistribute CodeFence scan results without written permission.
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose.

5. Plans & Billing

  • Free plan is limited to 3 repositories. No credit card required.
  • Paid plans (Pro, Team) are billed monthly or annually via Stripe.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the billing period.
  • We do not offer refunds for partial months, except where required by law.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice.

6. Your Data & IP

You retain ownership of your code and data. By connecting your repositories, you grant CodeFence a limited license to access and scan your code solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not store your source code — only scan findings and metadata.

7. Service Availability

We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime or service interruptions.

8. Limitation of Liability

CodeFence provides security findings as informational guidance. We do not guarantee that our scans will detect every vulnerability or that acting on our findings will prevent all security incidents. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodeFence is not liable for any damages arising from your use of or reliance on the Service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may close your account at any time from your account settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email for material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
